In challenging conditions Eagles continued their impressive run that has seen them unbeaten in 12 league games since their only defeat back in September prior to today’s game!

The pitch was never going to let Eagles play their flowing football as it was sticky and very bobbly. Eagles lined up with Jan in goal, Jatin, Doulton and Phil in defence with Liam and Sam sitting just in front. Thomas, Fraser and Silas were in midfield and Jack and Luke started upfront. Shusanta and James started as substitutes.

Eagles settled quickly and took the lead when Silas scored his first goal of the afternoon. Eagles doubled their advantage when Fraser scored his 22^nd goal of the campaign. Following some good work on the right Luke then extended Eagles’ lead with his 17^th goal of the season. Eagles made it 4-0 when Silas scored his second of the afternoon as Eagles looked comfortable and were good value for their lead.

Hugin then scored twice the close the arrears and make the score 4-2 which was no reflection on the possession Eagles had enjoyed.

Half time came and Mark allowed Jan the opportunity to come out of goal, something Jan has been wanting to do all season! A nervous Fraser took over in goal.

Midway through the half Eagles took a 5-2 lead when Silas completed his hat-trick. This saw the end of the goals despite some impressive Eagles’ play in difficult conditions. Fraser came out of goal without having to make a save as Jan returned between the sticks!

Jatin was awarded Player of the Match for his endeavours.

Eagles ended the season on a run of 13 league games unbeaten and winning the title by 11 points from their nearest rivals, Faversham Town. An impressive season that will now conclude with a night out to celebrate and be presented with their Division 2 Champions Trophy later in the year.
